About the Appointment Procedure

At La Pelle, we specialise in cosmetic injectables designed to restore youthfulness and balance to your facial features. Our dermal fillers offer a non-surgical solution to smooth out lines and wrinkles, enhance facial contours, and provide instant results that can last for months.

Dermal fillers are hyaluronic acid-based injectable gels that are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, lift sagging skin, soften wrinkles and fine lines, hydrate the skin, plump the lips, correct facial asymmetry, smooth folds and wrinkles, maintain a youthful skin look, and enhance facial contours.

This is a relatively safe, non-permanent treatment, and the fillers can be dissolved if desired.

Areas and Concerns Addressed by Dermal Filler Work

Dermal fillers can be used in various areas of the face to achieve specific goals, including:

  • Nasolabial folds – soften deep lines around the nose and mouth
  • Perioral area – treat fine lines around the mouth, including smoker’s lines
  • Lips – enhance volume or hydration for fuller, smoother lips
  • Jawline – define, smooth, or masculinize the jawline
  • Chin – increase projection or masculinize the chin
  • Temples – restore volume to hollowed temples

Different fillers have unique consistencies and properties, and they are injected at varying depths to achieve the desired outcomes. Based on your individual needs, we will recommend the most suitable filler during your consultation.

We use highly reputable products, including Belotero® and Restylane® , trusted both in New Zealand and internationally.

Wrinkle Injectables Treatment Process

Your appointment will begin with an initial consultation, where we’ll discuss your concerns and desired outcomes. A comprehensive facial assessment will be performed, and a customized treatment plan will be created. This plan may involve a series of treatments, sometimes combined with other modalities like botulinum toxin injections, to achieve optimal results.

For more sensitive areas, such as the lips, a topical anesthetic may be applied 30 minutes prior to the treatment. In some cases, a dental block may also be used for added comfort.

Most filler treatments on other facial areas are well-tolerated without local anesthetic. During the procedure, you might feel mild pressure or a popping sensation. All dermal fillers used at our clinic contain local anesthetic to minimize any discomfort post-treatment.

Throughout the procedure, we will review the results step by step to ensure you are satisfied with the outcome.

The entire process typically takes around one hour, depending on the areas treated. If numbing cream is needed, allow for an additional 30 minutes.

When Will I See Benefits or Results?

Results are visible immediately following the treatment. However, the lips may appear more swollen for the first two weeks before settling into their final shape.

The longevity of the results varies between 6 to 18 months , depending on the treatment area, type of filler, and individual factors.
